Continue reading…This was an incredible monument with such a great slot canyon hike! What they are referring to as “tent” rocks are hoodoos made from igneous rock and through erosion have become visible to us. Many of these tent rocks had giant boulders balancing on top of them which is a pretty incredible sight!
Continue reading…We ended up going to Valles Caldera since it was so close and we wanted to see the source of the volcanic eruption that had created and helped form all those amazing caveats we saw at Bandelier National Monument.
Continue reading…Since Los Alamos and Bandelier are so close to one another we arrived at the campground in good time even after making some stops along the way. We even had enough time to take a hike!
Continue reading…Onward we went to Los Alamos. I had mixed feelings about visiting this place. It was such a big part of history and there were many brilliant scientists who lived here, but history that was made here also killed hundreds of thousands. Devastating.

Well, I’m not much of a Vegas girl but we did just make a fairly spur of the moment choice that was definitely crazy. Were we drugged?? I’m not ruling it out. No, we didn’t sell our home to be full time on the road. We got a kitten!

Continue reading…We had been planning to go to the Balloon Fiesta in Albuquerque for some time, however we weren’t planning it a year in advance like most others therefore we could only find a camping spot for 3 out of the 9 nights of the fiesta. Eh, better than nothing!
Continue reading…We arrived at Great Sand Dunes National Park on a very windy afternoon. The sun was out and it was a lovely temperature but when we thought of exploring the sand dunes in high winds, it didn’t sound too appealing. Instead we decided to hang out in the campground, let the girls play, relax and catch up on some internet stuff like this blog. Internet is fairly hard to come by so we try to take advantage when we do have it.
